BASIC LAWS
1)We are of the Old Ways, among those who walk with the Goddess and God and receive Their love.
2)Keep the Sabbats and Esbats to the best of your abilities, for to do otherwise is to lessen your connections with the God and Goddess.
3)Harm none. This, the oldest law, is not open to interpretation or change.
4)Shed not blood in ritual; the God and Goddess need not blood to be duly worshiped.
5)Those of our way are kind to ALL creatures for hurtful thoughts are quite draining and aren't worth the loss of energy. Misery is self-created; so too is joy, so create joy and disdain misery and unhappiness. And this is within your power. So harm not.
6)Teach only what you know, to the best of your ability, to those students whom you choose, but teach not to those who would use your instructions for destruction or control. Also teach not to boost pride, for ever remember: she who teaches for vain-glory shall take little pride in her handiwork; she who teaches out of love shall be enfolded in the arms of the God and Goddess.
7)Ever remember that if you would be of our way, keep the Law close to your heart, for it is the nature of the Wicca to keep the Law.
8)If ever the need arises, any law may be changed or discarded, and new laws written to replace them, so long as the new laws don't break the oldest law of all: harm none.
~from Living Wicca by Scott Cunningham

THE LAW OF THE POWER
1)The Power shall not be used to bring harm, to injure or control others. But if the need arises, the Power shall be used to protect your life or the lives of others.
2)The Power is used only as need dictates.
3)The Power can be used for your own gain, as long as by doing so you harm none.
4)It is unwise to accept money for use of the Power, for it quickly controls its taker. Be not as those of other religions.
5)Use not the Power for prideful gain, for such cheapens the mysteries of Wicca and magick.
6)Ever remember that the Power is the sacred gift of the God and Goddess, and should never be misused or abused.

THE WITCHES' CODE OF CHIVALRY

Insofar as the Craft of the Wise is the most ancient and most honorable creed of humankind, it behooves all who are Witches to act in ways that give respect to the Old Gods, to their sisters and brothers of the Craft, and to themselves. Therefore, be it noted that:

Chivalry is a high code of honor which is of most ancient Pagan origin, and must be lived by all who follow the Old Ways.
It must be kenned that thoughts and intent put forth on this middle-Earth will wax strong in other worlds beyond, and return...bringing into creation, on this world, that which had been sent forth. Thus one should exercise discipline, for "as ye do plant, so shall ye harvest."
It is only by preparing our minds to be as Gods that we can ultimately attain godhead.
"This above all...to thine own self be true..."
A Witch's word must have the validity of a signed and witness oath. Thus, give thy word sparingly, but adhere to it like iron.
Refrain from speaking ill of others, for not all truths of the matter may be known.
Pass not unverified words about another, for hearsay is, in a large part, a thing of falsehoods.
Be thou honest with others, and have them know that honesty is likewise expected of them.
The fury of the moment plays folly with the truth; to keep one's head is a virtue.
Contemplate always the consequences of thine acts upon others. Strive not to harm.
Diverse covens may well have diverse views on love between members and with others. When a coven, clan or grove is visited or joined, one should discern quietly their practices, and abide thereby.
Dignity, a gracious manner, and a good humor are much to be admired.
As a Witch, thou hast power, and thy powers wax strongly as wisdom increases. Therefore, exercise discretion in the use thereof.
Courage and honor endure forever. Their echoes remain when the mountains have crumbled to dust.
Pledge friendship and fealty to those who so warrant. Strengthen others of the Brethren and they shall strengthen thee.
Thou shall not reveal secrets of another Witch or another coven. Others have labored long and hard for them and cherish them as treasures.
Though there may be differences between those of the Old Ways, those who are once-born must see nothing, and must hear nothing.
Those who follow the mysteries should be above reproach in the eyes of the world.
The laws of the land should be obeyed whenever possible and within reason, for in the main they have been chosen with wisdom.
Have pride in thyself, and seek perfection in body and in mind. For the Lady has said, "How can thou honor another unless thou give honor to thyself first?"
Those who seek the mysteries should consider themselves as select of the Gods, for it is they who lead the race of humans to the highest of thrones and beyond the very stars.

THE NATURE OF OUR WAY
1)As often as possible, hold the rites in forests, by the sea, on deserted mountaintops, or near tranquil lakes. If this is impossible, a garden or some chamber shall suffice, if it is readied with fumes or flowers.
2)Seek out wisdom in books, rare manuscripts, and cryptic poems if you will, but seek it also in simple stones and fragile herbs and in the cries of wild birds. Listen to the whisperings of the wind and the roar of the water if you would discover magick, for it is here that the old secrets are preserved.
3)Books contain words; trees contain energies and wisdom books ne'er dream of.
4)Ever remember that the Old Ways are constantly revealing themselves. Therefore be as the river willow that bends and sways with the wind. That which remains changeless shall outlive its spirit, but that which evolves and grows shall shine for centuries.
5)There can be no monopoly on wisdom. Therefore share what you will of our ways with others who seek them, but hide mystic lore from the eyes of those who would destroy, for to do otherwise increases their destruction.
6)Mock not the rituals or spell of another, for who can say yours are greater in power or wisdom?
7)Ensure that your actions are honorable, for all that you do shall return to you three-fold, good or bane.
8)Be wary of one who would dominate you, who would control and manipulate your workings and reverences. True reverence for the God and Goddess occurs within. Look with suspicion on any who would twist worship from you for their own gain or glory, but welcome those priestesses and priests who are suffused with love.
9)Honor all living things, for we are of the bird, the fish, the bee. Destroy not life, save it be to preserve your own.
~And this is the nature of our way~

PRINCIPLES OF BELIEF
The Council of American Witches finds it necessary to define modern Witchcraft in terms of the American experience and needs.

We are not bound by traditions from other times and other cultures, and owe no allegiance to any person or power greater than the Divinity manifest through our own being.

As American Witches, we welcome and respect all life-affirming teachings and traditions, and seek to learn from all and to share our learning withing our council.

It is in this spirit of welcome and cooperation that we adopt these few principles of Wiccan belief. In seeking to be inclusive, we do not wish to open ourselves to the destruction of our group by those on self-serving power trips, or to philosophies and practices contradictory to these principles. In seeking to exclude those ways contradictory to ours, we do not want to deny participation with us to any who are sincerely interested in our knowledge and beliefs, regardless of race, color, sex, age, national or cultural origins, or sexual preference.

We therefore ask only that those who seek to identify with us accept these few basic principles:

1)We practice rites to attune ourselves with the natural rhythm of life forces marked by the phases of the Moon an the seasonal quarters and cross-quarters.
2)We recognize that our intelligence gives us unique responsibility toward our environment. We seek to live in harmony with Nature, in ecological balance offering fulfillment to life and consciousness within an evolutionary concept.
3)We acknowledge a depth of power far greater than is apparent to the average person. Because it is far greater than ordinary, it is sometimes called "supernatural", but we see it as lying within that which is naturally potential to all.
4)We conceive of the Creative Power in the Universe as manifesting through polarity-as masculine and feminine-and that this same creative power lives in all people, and functions through the interaction of the masculine and feminine. We value neither above the other, knowing each to be supportive of the other. We value sexuality as pleasure, as the symbol and embodiment of Life, and as one of the sources of energies used in magickal practices and religious worship.
5)We recognize both outer worlds and inner, or psychological worlds and sometimes known as he Spiritual World, the Collective Unconscious and Inner Planes, etc. and we see in the interaction of these two dimensions the basis for paranormal phenomena and magickal exercises. We neglect neither dimension for the other, seeing both as necessary for our fulfillment.
6)We do not recognize any authoritarian hierarchy, but do honor those who teach, respect those who share their greater knowledge and wisdom, and acknowledge those who have courageously given of themselves in leadership.
7)We see religion, magick, and wisdom-in-living as being united in the way one views the world and philosophy of life, which we identify as Witchcraft or the Wiccan Way.
8)Calling oneself "Witch" does not make a witch-but neither does heredity itself, or the collecting of titles, degrees, and initiations. A Witch seeks to control the forces within her/himself that makes life possible in order to live wisely and well, without harm to others, and in harmony with Nature.
9)We acknowledge that it is the affirmation and fulfillment of life, in a continuation of evolution and development of consciousness, that gives meaning to the Universe we know, and to our personal role within it.
10)Our only animosity toward Christianity, or toward any other religion or philosophy-of-life, is to the extent that its institutions have claimed to be "the one true, right, and only way" and have sought to deny freedom to others and to suppress other ways of religious practices and beliefs.
11)As American Witches, we are not threatened by debates on the history of the Craft, the origins of various terms, the legitimacy of various aspects of different traditions. We are concerned with our present and future.
12)We do not accept the concept of "absolute evil", nor do we worship any entity known as "Satan" or "the Devil" as defined by Christian Tradition. We do not seek power through the suffering of others, nor do we accept th concept that personal beliefs can only be derived by denial to another.
13)We work within Nature for that which is contributory to our health and well-being.

Note: I posted these as some views of Wiccans, but not to sujest that all follow or believe the same. Even I have my own personal understanding that are not exactly as these listed above. Please accept my apologies if I have mislead anyone about my persanal beliefs. Whether anyone agrees or not the reasons I keep this post going is because no one has the right to go to anyones page and bully them to get rid of or hide anything they post just because they disagree with it!

Serves me right for trying to be helpful. After all, what a horrible thing to try do to for someone. Sheesh. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yes, defensive. Something that your posts exemplify again and again with all the inane dancing you insist on engaging in. Am I really that much of a threat to you? Why? What is it about a woman having ideas that differ from yours which has you coming up with all kinds of smokescreen silliness? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And no, I'm not referring to your "explanation" of anything. But your various accusations against me, such as the "psychoanalyze" nonsense.

@ApplesLeFey: I was saying that I do understand that by putting my post in the public view it was open for everyone to see and if I didn't want it to be seen I could had made it private! But I did what I did to serve a pupose, and it served the pupose I had intended. So now I have made it for friends only! Another words I knew what I was doing when I chose to make it public. My point is just because we may know something doesn't mean we should act upon it! And if I choose to post something pertaining to my path or just things about who I am as a person for people to just view to get to know me doesn't mean that it should have to fear someone elses scrutiny after all we should not be here judging eachother like Christians do we should just allow people the full right to see things as they choose to and if we don't like it then we should let it go and move on about our business. I believe their are no wrong answers to religion(which is Spirituality in practice by an individual or group) or just plain spirituality (which are beliefs that develope into Religion when practiced)! So now I have said my piece I have made the post for my friends to see only! bye and thank you for your interest! :-)

LOL!!!! You seriously still have not figured out the true essence of this whole thing! Okay, allow me to explain, I deliberately made this post hoping you would bite my hook so to say. Why you ask, because I had heard from several people that you have a bad habit of forcing your views and opinions on other people. So just for my personal amusement I decided to bait you and push your buttons. The fact is I don't completely know all the ways you have stepped on others because you felt you had some point to prove all I can see is the example here, but it was never a matter of disagreeing with your points about the issue because not to feed your ego but you did have a point to what you said(whether your right or wrong that is not the point, the point is we as people do not have the right to voluntarily impose it on anyone without being asked by that person to do so) . But in my view it is disrespectful for anyone to force opinions, advice, or corrections on others when it is not asked for! In short if I wanted you to critic my work I would of asked you to do so. Otherwise whether we disagree with what someone else post on their page it would be more polite to ask if they mind you critiquing their work or if you may offer help or advice instead of barging in with it! Otherwise if you don't like it ignore it and mind your own business is all I'm saying. Again, it's been fun toying with you and I don't believe you'll see my point but oh well it's been a pleasure playing with your delicate sensibilities I'll say no more bye!
