I know, you can't BELIEVE I am writing another blog so soon after the last one. This a**hole hurt my feelings BADLY and I wanted to tell you so you can avoid him!
.
Recently someone asked if I practiced Huna, a Hawaiian spiritual system and shamanistic practice. I had not heard of it, so I looked it up online and what do you know? I found several sites that related to it. I was excited and decided this was something I REALLY wanted to learn about, I felt it could only add to my hula experience, which I find to be VERY spiritual.
.
I contacted one site, Huna-ohana.com, and was sent an e-Book with a lot of the history of Huna and how they traced it to Egypt and basically, all over the world. They said this shamanistic practice is probably 35,000 years old. Now, that's even older than the Venus of Willendorf. Pretty old. After reading this history of Huna, there was (of course) an offer to sell me DVDs relating to Huna.
.
I don't think it's proper to CHARGE for spiritual teachings, although, you may offer products incidental to the study that might enhance the teachings that are offered for free. I wrote a decent email to them and said I thought it was wrong to sell spiritual teachings and heard back from Rev. James Vinson Wingo, DD. He picked my email apart, line by line, and explained how stupid and wrong I was, and asked if I expected my spiritual practice to be handed to me with no input of any effort, etc. on my part. He really made some VERY rude remarks, and I wrote back telling him I thought it was the rudest email I had ever received.
.
Then, he sent me an email saying there is unlimited free learning available at huna-ohana.com. And he sent me some offers to buy more spiritual products from him. I ignored the offers.
.
Yesterday I finally got around to going to huna-ohana.com and found it is basically a Yahoo group that you have to sign up for. So, alright, I'm not thrilled with Yahoo, but I decided I wanted to learn about Huna and this site offered a way to do that. Upon trying to sign up, I found the I have been banned by the Owner....so I wrote to the right reverend asshole and asked what's up??? I thought you said I could learn there for free, what's up with banning me?
.
He wrote back, taking THIS email apart, piece by piece and told me how stupid and wrong I am yet again. Ok, I'm slow, but I DO learn!!! And I had received more offers of cool savings on their products after I asked him NOT to send me offers to BUY anthing. This time I decided to put him in the "discard" pile through what spam filters exist in the email system I am using.
.
The reason I am telling you all this is, I don't want someone here to meet this asshole without warning and end up paying for something they say is free. And he hurt Amber Miranda's feelings. I cried after I read his last email, it was SO cruel and strange. It sounded like he's a scientologist trying to get me "clear." His approach is NOT very spiritual and I don't want ANYTHING to do with a site that HE has anything to do with. If all he can do is pick me apart and tell me how stupid and wrong I am, then he's not a very good spiritual example, let alone a very good spiritual leader. Many of these Huna sights go hand in hand with Neural Linguistic Programming, which I am NOT interested in, and they seem only to offer seminars to teach NLP, saying little or nothing directly about Huna.
.
There is at least one book on Huna available through the library system, and I will be checking that out, and trying again to find a FREE website that has these teachings.
.
What do YOU think about a spiritual leader who acts in this manner? Am I just too sensitive to live, or am I right, and he is a real asshole who probably doesn't practice any spiritual teachings that I want to know about. One rude email could be him having a bad day, but 2?! Talk to me, People.

Knowledge should be shared, not sold.0 pointsvervain7 wrote 735 Days Ago (neutral) 0ooooohhh, this is why I do what I do. I wish I would have ran into this dip$hit first. I will never charge for teaching as I was never charged. I hope you find resources that are given with love to honest seekers and may King Prick get his just reward for being such a whiny tw*t.0 pointsithus wrote 735 Days Ago (neutral) 0I agree with Scyn. It sounds as if the only thing this guy gets spiritual about is money and since that's not what you're looking to learn he has nothing to teach you. He didn't need to be so hateful- another thing you aren't looking to learn. Thanks for sharing this experience with me since I had planned to look into Huna. Serge King and other have written books on Huna you can find through Amazon.0 pointsPhoenixClover wrote 736 Days Ago (neutral) 0Thanks for the warning. This guy does sound pretty icky. I'm sorry you got your feelings hurt - I don't think you deserve that at all! And like Scyn said... he KEPT sending you ads? Ugh. Just remember that he's only one a-hole; there's so many more, better people who care about you out there! And good luck with your search on info about Huna. I hope it yields positive results. :-)0 points
Anonymous wrote 736 Days Ago (neutral) 0What a jerk! Sites that claim they can teach you this and that but you have to pay a ridiculous fee are a bunch of crap. Just like that Dorrance Publishing Company that contacted me a few months ago saying 'sure we'll take your book, but only if you give us your money'. WTF? You're better off without this lame guy's products, and I'm better off without subsidy publishing companies.0 points
